Trashercise Leiper’s Fork Community Event
March 4 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
It’s time to TRASHERCISE!! If you don’t know what that term means, it’s really a fun concept of getting exercise by picking up trash! Folks all over Williamson County will be trashercising through the month of March.
Westhaven has been assigned Highway 96 -from downtown Franklin to Highway 46- a little over 5 miles. We need volunteers who will be dropped off along the route armed with gloves, reflective vests, and trash bags. You will pick up trash along your assigned area and just leave the trash bags on the side of the road. We have crews coming through later to remove all of the trash bags.
Here’s how it will work. We will meet in the Kroger parking lot at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, March 4th. Then, we will head out in teams and pick up trash. We’ll have all the trash bags, gloves, safety vests, water, etc. Then we’ll get everyone back to the Kroger parking lot around noon (at the very latest).
If you are interested in participating, please send me an email and I’ll put your name on the list. Prior to the event, you will need to fill out a waiver (I will email to participants when it is available) and bring it with you the day of the event. We will also have waivers available that morning. Children under the age of 18 must be supervised by parents. Since we are picking up trash along Highway 96, I would advise against having young children participate.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 791.6740 or at email@example.com. I will form an email list of participants and will keep you up to date with information.
