Westhaven 5K Memory Run Raises $17 K for Tennessee Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association

Franklin, Tenn. The Westhaven Foundation hosted a 5K Memory Run and Kids Fun Run on May 4, 2019 and raised $17,000 for the Tennessee Alzheimer’s Association. The Westhaven community has hosted numerous charitable runs within the neighborhood, but this was the first to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. The Westhaven Foundation is the community’s not-for-profit charitable entity.

“We were very encouraged with this year’s turn-out and fundraising effort,” said Matt Magallanes, President of the Westhaven Foundation. “We want to thank all of our sponsors and those community members who came out in support of this critical organization which does so much to help families across the state battle Alzheimer’s. This will now be an annual event for us with the goal of larger donations and increased participation.”

The event attracted more than 25 sponsors, ranging from small business owners to large companies. A full list of participating organizations and individuals appears on page three of this release.

“We are proud to say that the Westhaven Foundation has made the largest contribution to our organization in 2019,” said Kelsey Williams, Manager of Development and Initiatives for the Alzheimer’s Association of Tennessee. “We are grateful for their generosity and look forward to next year’s event in the interest of generating even more awareness for this important cause.”
